Aircraft Parking
Parking spaces at Longreach Airport are limited, and approvals must be obtained in advance for non-RPT aircraft over 5,700kg, light jet and turbine aircraft. The requirements are detailed in the ERSA.
Runway Works
Longreach Airport is undertaking planned runway maintenance works from Sunday 13 September to Tuesday 22 September. These works are essential to maintain the condition of our runway and ensure its ongoing safety and reliability for years to come.
To allow the works to be completed, the runway will be closed to all aircraft operations during the periods listed below. To minimise disruption, the runway will then be reopened between the closure periods below to accommodate Regular Passenger Transport (RPT) services.
Runway closure periods:
Sunday (13 & 20 September)
- 6:00am - 3:30pm
- 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Monday - Friday (14 -18 and 21-22 September)
- 6:00am - 1:00pm
- 3:30pm - 7:00pm
Saturday 19 September
- 6:00am - 12:00pm
- 1:30pm - 7:00pm

Itinerant Aircraft Parking
Parking spaces at Longreach Airport are limited, and approvals must be obtained in advance for non-RPT aircraft over 5700kg, light jet and turbine aircraft. The requirements are detailed in the ERSA.
Itinerant aircraft parking requests must be sent through the Online Itinerant Aircraft Parking Form here. This form contains operational data from aircraft owners/operators/Ground handling agents that is essential to ensure a smooth visit to Longreach Airport.
Requests must be received at least one (1) clear business days prior to aircraft movement.
