Longreach Airport is dedicated to ensuring the safe, secure and efficient operation of all aviation activities. Our Aviation Services team manages runway and airspace requirements, coordinates itinerant and general aviation aircraft parking, and oversees drone regulations to support safe and efficient flight operations across the airport precinct.

Outback Food, Wine and Music Festival returns with Longreach Airport support

The flavours of the outback will be celebrated once again at the 2021 Outback Food, Wine and Music Festival, with Longreach Airport re-joining as major sponsor.

Staged on 11 September, the event will be headlined by celebrity chef Colin Fassnidge and hosted by media personality Kimberley Busteed, with entertainment by Encore.

QAL extends support to help lower regional fares

Queensland Airports Limited, the owner and operator of Townsville, Mount Isa and Longreach airports, has extended its agreement with independent airline Regional Express (Rex) to help keep airfare costs lower for regional Queenslanders.

The accomplished airport operator agreed to continue its support of the Rex community fare scheme following completion of its six-month trial at the end of January.

Behind the scenes for bushfire drive

One lucky local has won the chance to go behind the scenes at Longreach Airport after participating in a fundraising drive to help victims of the recent Australian bushfires.

Bruce McClymont was given the rare opportunity after winning top prize in a Longreach Airport fundraising raffle aimed at supporting victims of the recent bushfire disaster in the southern states.
